Following the transition from the
old Executive Committee to the new one, we have had
severe difficulties with our payment and membership
handling. The transition of the accounts has been more
time consuming and complex than we anticipated.
In addition, the transfer of
the Paypal accounts is still in process and as a
consequence, everybody who has tried to either renew
membership or become a new member from end of May until
probably end of August will not have been processed. We
will be getting back to you should you be among those
members with the request of renewing your membership
once our facilities are in place again. There will be no
double processes, as all Paypal requests have been
declined during that period. We would like to apologise
for that inconvenience, which we hope will not occur in
future times as we will seek to have the old treasurer
stay on until everything is settled.
2) ISCMR workshop for Australia?
The Australian conference 29
th-31
st
March 2008 is approaching fast, and there will again be
the opportunity to either run a pre-conference workshop
or an ISCMR session within the conference. We thought
that a fitting topic might be, for example, the security
of herbal drugs coming from
China, as one of the topics of this conference
will be the focus on
East Asia.
Should anyone be interested in organising a
pre-conference workshop on this or any other topic that
might be a good chance. Please contact the Exec
www.iscmr.org/about/about.html#executive and/or
Felix Wong (
fwong3@bigpond.net.au)
directly for this. The Exec is also very happy to help
out with seeking further presenters within such a
workshop should someone want to organise one.
3) Regional Special Interest Groups
We would again point out to our membership that at the last
annual general meeting we agreed to encourage regional
chapters as special interest groups of ISCMR. Several people
have approached the Exec so far, and we would like to
encourage active discussion around that. Should you be
willing to organise such a regional chapter, just come
forward and let us know and we will put out a Newsflash
publicising your name and email address so that people can
network with you.
