1. Message
from the President - Paypal Problems Solved and Membership Renewals
We
have experienced quite some problems with Paypal. This had to do
with unanticipated difficulties when transferring our account from
the previous treasurer Suzie Zick to our current treasurer Laurie
Lachance, which were both legal and technical in nature. The result
of this was that several members trying to renew were unable to do
so for quite a while
and they
may then
unfortunately have received multiple reminders.
I do apologise on behalf of
ISCMR for those troubles. This is what happens to young institutions
sometimes. But in effect, no one’s membership has been cancelled in
between. We have carried you over, knowing about the problems, even
if you renewed three or more months later. So all your membership
benefits were actually live: you received Newsflashes, had access to
our website and to JACM, were kept in our database and in our heart.
If that is not true, please let me know.
That means that some of you will now receive or already have
received reminders to renew your membership, when in fact your
official end of term was perhaps already in May, or June. If
all things go well, you will receive another reminder already next
February, March, or May. Do not think that we are shortening the
term of your membership. It will still have been a year since your
previous annual payment.
Just
remember our problems and that you have always remained a member,
even if we could not process your details for the renewal.
Those of you receiving the
renewal calls, please sign up and renew as soon as you can.
Thanks for your patience with us and for your continued support of
ISCMR
Harald Walach

Reviewers for generic reviewing database of ISCMR
We are compiling a list of
reviewers for generic purposes within ISCMR. This database is
meant to be open for access by organisers of conferences, by
journals seeking advice, and by other agencies, for instance
funding agencies who are seeking referees. We are looking for
volunteer referees who have expertise in CAM research as proven
through peer-reviewed publications and would invite those
individuals to send their credentials (CV, list of publications,
and description of expertise) to Harald Walach
(harald.walach@northampton.ac.uk).
