International Collaborations to Enhance the Science of CAM:
Past, Present, and Future
Tuesday, May 12, 2009, 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Minneapolis Hilton, Minneapolis MN

This one-day symposium highlights international collaborations, and unique basic science approaches being developed on other continents. This symposium will supplement the NARCCIM conference, and will include 9 plenary sessions, and interactive roundtables at the end of the day. The morning plenary focuses on the types of multidisciplinary cross-national research studies that are made strong by patterns of diversity that do not exist within individual countries, and will focus on the collaborative process as well as on design issues and results. The early afternoon plenary will highlight novel biomarkers and mechanisms of action of CAM therapies emerging from research in locales other than North America, and will offer the potential for building new collaborations and developing new research directions.

Finally, the late afternoon interactive session will have the conference presenters, their research team members, and conference attendees join into special interest groups to identify critical next steps in particular research areas (synthesis papers, synthetic workshops, and collaborative research projects), prepare brief outlines of those consensus concepts, and present the best back to the group. This activity is designed to enhance the likelihood of new collaborations and research directions resulting from the symposium.

Non-member - $140 (includes a 1-year membership in ISCMR)
Member - $70
Student/Low Income - $50

Go to the ISCMR website, www.iscmr.org, for the full program.

We look forward to seeing you there and building new collaborations!
